Wednesday’s Stop Part of National Information Tour
(Pittsburgh, PA) – Representatives from American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE) will be in Chillicothe on Wednesday, October 29, 2008, to educate Ohio residents about energy issues within the state and how coal is a significant resource in supplying reliable and affordable electricity.
Who: American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity
What: Tour stop and education drive for coal and clean coal technology, including Coal Vans
Where: Road to Victory Rally with Governor Sarah Palin Ross County Courthouse 2 North Paint Street Chillicothe, OH
When: Wednesday, October 29, 2008 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Why: With both the Democratic and Republican presidential nominees supporting clean coal technology as part of our nation’s energy policy, ACCCE looks to educate Ohio residents on the benefits of balanced energy sources, including coal-powered generation, as a way to provide a cleaner and more affordable source of electricity. In Ohio, 85.9 percent of electricity is coal generated, compared to the national average of 50 percent, and the average cost per kilowatt-hour in Ohio is below the national average.
American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity is a non-profit, non-partisan group that promotes a dialogue with community leaders across the nation to discuss balancing America's growing demand for electricity with the need to protect the environment. ACCCE counts more than 150,000 members nationwide. Because of its prominence in the nation's energy mix, electricity from coal is a major focus of the dialogue. The Web site is www.americaspower.org.
