ACCCE Statement Regarding DOE Clean Coal Technology Grants$408 million in Recovery Act Funding for New Technologies to Advance Carbon Capture and StorageU.S. Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu announced today that projects by Basin Electric Power Cooperative and Hydrogen Energy International LLC have been selected for up to $408 million in funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The two projects selected -- an existing power plant in North Dakota and a new facility in California -- will incorporate advanced technologies to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

ACCCE Statement regarding the Arkansas Court of Appeal's ruling on the John W. Turk Power PlantThe American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE) today issued this statement from Joe Lucas, senior vice president of communications for ACCCE in response to the Arkansas’ Court of Appeals decision to overturn the Arkansas Public Service Commission’s approval of Southwestern Electric Power Company’s (SWEPCO) John W. Turk power plant. "We are disappointed in the Court of Appeals ruling because it represents a significant setback in both the economic progress of Southwestern Arkansas and the deployment of advanced clean coal technologies."

ACCCE Factuality Tour Highlights FutureGen in Mattoon, IllinoisThe Factuality Tour produced by the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE), has been filming all over the Central United States to demonstrate how America’s reliable electricity supply is produced from “the mine to your plug.” The most recent stop on the Factuality Tour was filmed in Mattoon, Illinois, home of the FutureGen project. The power plant will create 5000 jobs; with a significant portion of those based in the Mattoon area.

Produced by the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE), the Factuality Tour has been filming throughout the Midwest to demonstrate how America’s reliable electricity supply is produced from the “mine to plug.”
