EPRI Joins CCS Efforts At Mountaineer Plant

Greenwire reports that the Electric Power Research Institute, a research group funded by investor-owned utilities, announced Tuesday that “it would work with American Electric Power Co. Inc. and Alstom Power to validate the carbon capture process used at AEP's Mountaineer Plant, which could be the first pulverized coal-fired power plant to be retrofitted to capture CO2 and inject and store it in a rock formation deep underground.”
