Obama rally, Hillary private event & Educational Road Tour

Columbus, Zainesville, Carroll, Cadiz & St. Clairsville, Ohio

There was no slowing down on our fifth day in Ohio. We began at 6 a.m. at the Obama event at Ohio State University.

Our Citizen Army did an awesome job of passing out coffee, t-shirts, stickers and pens — and talking about clean coal being abundant and affordable.

Channel 6, the local ABC station, covered the event and showed our clean coal supporters in the background.

From the Obama rally, we went straight to a Hillary event in Zainesville. The event was not open to the public but our crew managed to talk to several attendees about clean coal, included an embedded reporter.

Meanwhile, we’ve been starting our educational tour throughout eastern Ohio, which includes visiting towns in Ohio where coal plays a critical role.

Our first stop was the town of Carroll. We dropped off our informational material at the Carrolton Free Press Standard and headed to the visitors bureau and a local diner and hardware store to spread our message.

Cadiz (our next stop) is in Harrison County, which is the third-largest coal producing county in Ohio. It is also the birthplace of Clark Gable, for those of you film buffs. We held our handmade signs and our banner backpacks. Locals passing by waved and honked in support.

A reporter for the Harrison News Herald interviewed us about our efforts.

Our last stop of the day was in St. Clairsville to canvass the long lines waiting for Hillary to speak. We had lots of time to speak with supporters about our mission. We met several men who worked in the coal mines and were excited to know that we are out there working to get clean coal on the forefront of the presidential campaign.
